This shotgun has flourishes of floral scroll engraving on the hammers, break lever, side plates, receiver and trigger guard/lower tang. The hammers are out of the plane of sight when cocked. "HAMMOND & HUSSEY, 23 & 25. HIGH ST. CROYDON." is engraved on the concave rib and there is a single steel bead sight at the muzzle. The barrels are choked cylinder/extra full and have 2 9/16 inch chambers with an extractor. The right bore measures .737 and has a wall thickness of .052 with the left bore measuring .746 with a wall thickness of .048. It is mounted on a nicely figured, multi-point checkered walnut splinter forearm with contrasting tip and straight grip stock with silver initial oval and checkered bare butt with steel heel and toe plates. The length of pull is 14 1/2 inches. The drop at comb is 1 3/8 inches. The drop at heel is 1 7/8 inches. There is no cast and 1/2 inch of toe out. Includes a leather takedown motorcase with a Harrison & Hussey label inside, a metal tin containing a pull through cleaning rope with bore brush, bore mop and patch jag, 2 snap caps and a 3 piece cleaning rod.
Professionally refinished. The barrels retain 95% plus brown finish with some scattered dings, scratches and minor spots of pitting. The break lever and trigger guard retain 98% blue finish. The remainder of the metal components have a bright appearance with some dings and scratches. Some of the engraving has been smoothed out. The refinished stock is very good with the checkering slightly off center. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are good.
