This shotgun features attractive Damascus patterned barrels marked "W. C. SCOTT & SON 10 Gt CASTLE STREET REGENT CIRCUS LONDON" on the rib with the matching serial number on the bottom of the right barrel and the lower tang. The shotgun features fine scroll engraving, a single bead sight on the solid matte rib, double triggers, tang mounted automatic safety, and automatic ejectors. The barrels and flats are marked "CHOKE" with various additional proofmarks and measurements and modified/improved cylinder chokes. It is mounted with a nicely figured, checkered, walnut forearm with engraved hardware and a straight grip stock with a replaced serrated horn buttplate and a silver initial oval. The length of pull is 14 1/4 inches and chambered for 2 1/2 inch shells. Lot includes an unmarked wood case with a vintage appraisal, various newspaper clippings, Polaroid photos, a hand written letter, and other papers.
Very good with 80% Damascus finish remaining on the barrels. Some case colors remain on the action with sharp engraving and a mottled gray patina. There are some minor scratches and marks overall and the barrels are lighter closer to the breech with some dark lines on the left side. The wood is also very good as freshened with some minor scratches and dings and some overall light handling marks. The wood case has dings, marks, and dents on the wood and an aged patina on the brass edging.
