Marketed to law enforcement and foreign military clients, the AC-556 family of weapons is the Mini-14 223 caliber rifle configured as a factory original selective fire machine gun. Fixed blade front and adjustable peep rear sights, with no muzzle device, threading or bayonet lug on the barrel. The hold-open device is externally mounted, with a manual control lever, the safety is fit to the front of the triggerguard, and a low profile checkered selector switch is present on the right side of the receiver heel, with functional semi-automatic, 3-round burst, and full-automatic settings. A number "6" label has been applied to the trigger guard, possibly a police department rack number. Smooth hardwood stock, with hardwood upper handguard, smooth wrist, smooth alloy buttplate and a brown leather sling.
Very fine, with 80% of the original blue finish, with oxidization and spotting on the muzzle, front sight, gas block, and around the bolt, some scuffs and dents around the rear sight, and mild handling marks. The stock is fine, with scattered light dings and scratches overall and some heavier dents on the buttstock. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
