Description:
In the 18th century and early 20th century, canes began a very popular symbol of social and economic status, as well as sophistication. This cane is an excellent example of that elegant sophistication. The knob-shaped grip has been expertly relief carved in the form of a fluted, domed column with floral accents. The smooth shaft is ebonized and tipped with brass. It measures 39 inches overall.
Rating Definition:
Very fine, the grip showing a few scattered light handling marks and an attractively, very lightly aged tone. The shaft is good retaining half of the refinished ebonized finish, some scattered light flaking/wear, and an attractively aged patina on the brass.
