Blued Bohler steel barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib which is marked at the base with a gold inlaid "I", 1968 dated Italian proofs, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished hand detachable sidelock action displays highly attractive near full coverage broad leafy scroll engraving over a darkened matted background extending to the tangs, triggerguard, and nicely pierced toplever which also shows a gold inlaid crown. The gun features gas checked firing pins, a single gold trigger, and a tang mounted safety with gold inlaid "S". The triggerplate is signed "G. BERTELLA" to the right of the triggerguard. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and straight wrist stock with a Pachmayr rubber recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech proved at 18.5/18.4mm (.728/.724 inches) and measured .733/.730 inches; choke constriction .002(jug)/.003(jug) inches; minimum wall thickness .033/.033 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 5 oz.
Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue and coin finishes with some light rub wear, light handling evidence, some fading in the markings, scattered minor dings and scratches in the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
