Manufactured in 1938, the introductory year for the Service Ace Conversion. Fitted with blade front and adjustable rear sights, with "U95" stamped on top of the slide, and in electric pencil on the barrel and chamber, the two-line address and patent marks on the left of the slide followed by the Rampant Colt, and the model nomenclature and diamond logo on the right. The extractor is absent. A two-tone Colt Ace magazine is included, along with a recoil spring, guide, plunger, and slide release. Also includes an extremely rare presentation Colt hardwood case that holds the conversion unit and has an empty space fitted for a National Match or Super Match semi-automatic pistol.
Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish with some thinning on the edges of the slide and the plunger. Apart from the extractor all components appear to be present and functional. The case is fine with some minor handling/storage marks scattered throughout.
