Exceptional Cased L.D. Nimschke-New York Engraved Smith & Wesson Model No. 1 3rd Issue Revolver with Pearl Grips
Manufactured in 1868-1881. The revolver features near full coverage period L.D. Nimschke-New York engraving consisting of floral scrollwork on a punch dot background. A checkered board and dot motif decorates the sides of the barrel lug. The revolver is wearing pearl grips. The period partitioned retailer case contains an empty box of UMC cartridges for the S&W No. 1. The cartridge box has a green label. Provenance: The Sheryl Cheely Collection
Excellent as period Nimschke-New York engraved, retaining 99% plus original nickel plating with a crisp engraving. Nearly all original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are also excellent with fiery colors. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with minor handling/storage marks and typical high spot wear on the lining. A highly attractive Nimschke-New York engraved S&W Model No. 1 3rd Issue Revolver with case.
