Description:This is an excellent example manufactured in 1903, with the short 4 3/4 barrel, whereas most Bisleys had the long barrel for target shooting. The top of the barrel has the short two line markings "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO./HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.---", with the left side of the barrel roll-stamped "(BISLEY MODEL) 32 W.C.F." The left side of the frame has the Colt three-patent date, two-line markings followed by the circled Rampant Colt trademark, the loading gate is stamped "2498" and matching serial numbers are stamped on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and the back strap. Grips are checkered hard rubber with Rampant Colt logos at the top.
Rating Definition:Excellent, with 90% plus of the original blue finish with wear on the muzzle, ejector rod head and muzzle end of the ejector rod housing, some thinning on the housing, a gray patina on the grip straps and scattered handling marks. 95% of the original vivid case colors are present, most vivid in the protected areas with the recoil shield turning bright. Grips are also excellent, with some very minor scuffing on the bottom edges and sharp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
