Duffy's copy included here, which is no. 64 of 200 presentation copies, is signed by Bob Neal and Roy Jinks as well as Duffy and comes in a glass-top presentation case. On page 211 there is a handwritten note by S&W collector Hank Means. The revolver and the registration certificate are pictured on pages 148-149. Charles Duffy was officially the third owner of this Registered Magnum having purchased the gun from the second owner, who was a relative of the original owner.
Excellent, retaining 98% bright original high polish blue finish with slight muzzle wear, a cylinder drag line and some scattered minor handling marks. Nearly all of the original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine showing minor wear. A well-documented 5 inch Registered Magnum that was pictured and detailed in the ground breaking work "Smith and Wesson, 1857-1945." Provenance: Joseph Bannert, S. B. Petersen, Charles Duffy Collection.
