This is one of only 200 engraved revolvers manufactured to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Texas Rangers. Engraving and finishing was arranged by Texas Rangers Historical Arms, Inc. The revolver has attractive Southwestern style engraving, "TEXAS RANGER COMMEMORATIVE One Riot One Ranger" on the barrel, "WEL" signed ahead of the trigger guard, "TEXAS RANGERS" inscribed on the back strap, a silver star fitted behind the hammer, and a smooth grip with silver Ranger star inlay. The presentation case has silver Texas State Seal pulls and contains a Texas Ranger badge "made from a five peso Mexican silver coin and set in lucite" and one of the two included copies of Texas longhorn hide bound editions of "The Pictorial History of the Texas Rangers" by Charles Schreiner III and others. The second copy actually has a branded hide! One of the included letters from the Texas Rangers Historical Arms, Inc. notes that there "were very few branded books." The hides came from the famous YO Ranch. The included letter from F.E. Hendricks Master Engravers, Inc. from March 29, 1971, discussing the special revolvers notes that the revolver was engraved and signed by Weldon E. "Big Bill" Lister Sr. (1923-2009) at the Hendricks shop and that final production and finishing was by Frank E. Hendricks and Oscar Flores. Prior to starting his engraving career in the 1960s, Lister played as the opening act on tour with Hank Williams Sr. The engraving was estimated to have taken between ten days and three weeks to complete and were based on patterns by Hendricks. The revolver was received in their shop on October 10, 1969, and the grips were fitted by Wayne Shipley in October of 1970. It was engraved starting on October 7, 1970, and finished by November 19, 1970. The shipping box is also included.

Excellent with 95% original silver plating remaining, showing an attractive aged patina on the silver, an area of minor flaking and some minor rust on the cylinder. And some minor handling marks. The case and book are also excellent with minor storage wear. Mechanically excellent.
