This is an example of a unique unmarked Walther prototype that appears to share most of its characteristics with the Model PP. It's possible that this was a prototype for a Model PP chambered in .22 LR as it is .22 caliber and the magazine appears to be designed for the .22 LR cartridge. The metal finish is quite rough, not showing much evidence of having been polished or prepared for having a finish applied and there are no visible markings. There are however some scattered traces of what appears to be blue finish throughout, likely on parts that had been repurposed for the prototype. It is fitted with fixed sights, 60 degree safety, and smooth walnut grips. A very interesting piece of Walther developmental history.
Fine as a factory prototype, showing mostly a smooth grey patina with visible rough tooling marks. The grips are also very good showing the same rough finish as the metal and some light handling marks and excellent fit. Mechanically it appears to function apart from the firing pin being loose and the hammer occasionally failing to reset with the sear for proper double action function.
