This is a nice example of a late production WWII German Luger that was manufactured by the Mauser factory in 1942. The top of the barrel extension is marked "42" for the year of manufacture, and the toggle is marked "byf" which was the wartime code for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "Eagle/135" Waffenampt proof along with the Nazi eagle acceptance proof. The right side of the barrel has a very small eagle acceptance proof and the underside of the barrel only has the serial number with no bore markings. The left side of the receiver is marked "P08" below the toggle, which is correct for these late war production pistols. The various parts are correctly numbered to the pistol, including both magazines, which are the late type three versions with the extruded aluminum base with the center pin, both have an "Eagle/37" proof over the matching serial number of the pistol. It is complete with a late type III style black leather holster that is marked on the back "P08" "jhz/1942", over an "Eagle/WaA" Waffenampt acceptance proof and the original "Eagle/135" takedown tool.
Excellent overall with 95% plus of the original blued finish with minor holster wear. The grips are also excellent with nice diamonds with some pressure dents and dings on both sides. Mechanically excellent. The redyed holster is in fine condition with visible markings on back and nice tight stitching overall.
