The M17 pistol is a slightly modified version of the SIG P320 which was entered into the U.S. military's XM17 Modular Handgun System competition. Entries into the competition had to be submitted by January of 2016 with many recognizable names throwing their hat in the ring, including: CZ, Glock, S&W, FN, STI, Beretta, KRISS USA, and SIG Sauer. In January 2017 it was announced that SIG had won the contract and by November of that year the first M17's were being delivered, with the first units issued them being the 101st and 82nd airborne divisions. This pistol is likely one of the early pistols issued to these units for field testing and combat use. Includes a plain box with labels matching the gun, a certificate of authenticity, two extra magazines, and an extra recoil spring.
Very fine overall, retains 95% original coyote tan finish with some light handling marks and light wear associated with issued and field testing of military arms. If cycled slowly the slide hangs up just before sliding into battery, otherwise mechanically fine.
