Description:

Manufactured in 1925, this is an exceptionally rare set of three consecutively serialized pre-war Colt Government Model pistols. All three pistols have the two-line address/patent markings on the left of the matching serialized slide, caliber marking and Rampant Colt on the right, "1" over triangle "VP" on the left of the trigger guard, and "51" on the right. Each pistol includes a factory letter that confirms the current configurations and that they all shipped together, along with one other gun, to John Pritzlaff Hardware Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 8 December 1925. After 95 years, three of these consecutively numbered pistols have found their way back to each other, and it's possible that there is a fourth consecutively numbered pistol out there just waiting for you to discover. Included with the set is a very attractive brass-cornered, leather wrapped case with a Colt label inside the lid, blank brass plaque on the lid, and French-fit for the three pistols with a brass plaque displaying the serial number for each.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with some cold blue on the top right of the slide towards the muzzle and the balance 90% original blue finish with some scattered minor edge/high spot wear, scattered spotting, and a few patches of light pitting and a series of light scratches on the right ahead of the ejection port. The grips are also very fine with a coat of varnish and a few minor blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some of the brass fittings showing mild cleaning and otherwise minimal wear.
