The locks are marked "Verney jne sucr de gobert a lyon" around the hammer, and the case is similarly marked "VERNEY JNE/SUCCR DE GOBERT/A LYON," inside the lid. The pistols are numbered "1" and "2" respectively on top of the breech plugs and on the upper tangs in silver. The barrels have dark blue finish, fluted mid-sections, and fine dovetailed blade front sights. The bottom of barrels and breech plugs are numbers "82" (A) and "81" (B). The barrels also have Liege provisional proofs on the bottom. The inside of the stocks have "JN" markings. The locks, breeches, and furniture have a French gray finish and are engraved with classic Rococo style floral and scroll patterns. The stock are likewise relief carved with scrolls and floral blooms and have finely checkered wrists. The trigger guards are spurred which allows the shooters to use their middle fingers to help steady the pistols and also adds to the beauty of the pistols. The rosewood case has a scroll pattern and border inlaid into the lid, a central plaque engraved with what appears to be "GB" in Gothic script, and a closely fitted interior with green lining and contains loading and cleaning rods, compartments with lead balls, a mallet, combination screwdriver and wrench, containers for patches and percussion caps, a ball mold, and a small measure.
