Description:Manufactured by Willys, BMY, Baifield Industries, and Bruswick Corp. from 1956 to 1970, the M274A5 Mule was used by all U.S. military branches but mostly served with the Army and Marine Corps as a supply vehicle. It had good cross-country performance for a small, lightweight vehicle and faired well in Vietnam. The operator could drive the vehicle dismounted by folding the steering wheel forward and walking or crawling to reduce its silhouette in combat. It was designed to move ammunition to forward units and could be equipped with a 106 mm recoilless rifle. Top speed was around 25 mph using a Continental 2 cylinder horizontally opposed air cooled engine. Of the 11,240 M274s manufactured, 5,000 were destroyed or left in Vietnam. This Baifield Industries manufactured example has a June 1969 delivery date and comes with 2 replacement filters, tire iron, 7 ammunition cans, Warn Vantage 2000 winch, and 4 reproduction manuals (operator's manual, maintenance manual and 2 engine maintenance manuals).
Rating Definition:Very fine body and paint, seats show general wear, and Goodyear tires are moderately worn. The engine runs, appears fine.
