This is a beautiful example of Austrian Kolibri semiautomatic pistol. This wonderful little pistol was designed by Friederich Pfannl of Austria, and it is credited as being the smallest functional, production centerfire pistol, firing the smallest known centerfire cartridge. This pistol measures 2 3/4 inches long and 1 3/4 inches high and weighs 2.6 ounces loaded, amazing! Produced with a rear sighting notch only, this pistol is marked with only the encircled "FP" logo (Frederich Pfanni) on each grip panel and "KOLIBRI" on the lower right grip panel. This exceptional pistol is housed in an original French fitted "Kolibri" marked wooden storage/carrying case. Inside the case it has a darker green felt lining on the bottom with a white silk lining inside the lid. The silk is imprinted with: "Kolibri" with a floral pattern underneath. The outside of the case has a beautiful light green cover with leaves overall, somewhat like a decorative floral pattern with fine floral decorations around the edges of the case that match the pattern on the inside of the lid. It is complete with an original bore brush and a small ammunition tin that contains seven original 2.7 Kolibri cartridges.
Very fine with 85% of the faded blue finish overall, with the metal surfaces showing a light browning overall, just from being handled over the years. The grips are in very fine condition overall, with a small section absent from the back corner of the right panel, and some mild handling marks. The case is in fine condition with most of the outer cover and wear on the very corners and edges of the case. A really nice, very high condition cased Kolibri pistol.
