Description:Less than an estimated 800 of these Beals rifles were manufactured between 1866 and 1888. It features a blade front sight and adjustable notch rear sight, "BEALS PATENT JUNE 28, 1864 JAN. 30, 1866/E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y." on top of the barrel, "CS" inscribed in script on the left side of the frame, a straight wrist walnut stock with a crescent buttplate, and "244" on the bottom of the barrel, right side of the lever arm, and lower tang. The only factory engraved example of these rare rifles was owned and used by Annie Oakley.
Rating Definition:Good with mottled gray and brown patina on the barrel, aged patina on the brass, light pitting, some replacement screws, and general mild wear. The stock is also good and has cracking and chipping mainly at the heel and toe and some scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
