WHEELER/Auburn, Ny" in script inscribed on the butt. No details on Wheeler have been located, but Auburn was a important center of the anti-slavery movement and was the home of Harriet Tubman, William Seward, and other abolitionists.
Rating Definition:Good with mottled gray patina and light pitting, strong original silver plating under the grip, aged patina on the brass, distinct markings and inscription, and general mild wear. The grip is very good and has moderate edge wear, some scrapes and dings, and half of the varnish. Mechanically fine.
