Manufactured in 1884 as a Third Model with integral dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated rear edge. The accompanying factory letter lists this rifle with a round barrel, plain trigger and special order half magazine when received in the warehouse on December 6, 1884 and shipped on March 3, 1885 with four other arms. Dovetail blade and elevation adjustable sights, standard Winchester markings, trapdoor crescent buttplate (cleaning rod not included), and smooth forearm and straight grip stock.
Fine, retaining 50% original blue finish thinning to a brown. 30% original case colors remain on the hammer and lever. 40% original nitre blue remains on the loading gate. The wood is also fine with a divot on the underside of the buttstock, otherwise minor dings and scratches throughout. Mechanically excellent.
