Manufactured in 1959 with mostly standard markings and features. The barrel is proofed with "WRP" within an oval, and there is no proof on the receiver. This "WRP" proof has been associated with Winchester's research branch. The hammer appears slightly bobbed, the edges of the ejection port seem to show non-standard shape, and the comb was flattened before the finish was applied. With its standard serial number it is unknown why it was retained in the factory collection, but it shows some light signs of use which seem to indicate it was possibly retained for quality control or research purposes. There is a metal factory collection tag on the buttstock marked "W 1593". The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the carbine by model and serial number (incorrectly listed as "2343280"), stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.
Excellent overall, retains 99% original blue finish with some scattered minor dings and scratches throughout. Mechanically excellent.
