Matching visible serial numbers on the major components with matching partial "38" serial number on the small parts including screws and the sights. Smooth straight grip stock with "crown/letter" stamps on the right side and flat steel buttplate. With Suhl manufactured Model 1871 sawback bayonet with "crown/W/74" marking on the rear of the ricasso and leather sheath.
Excellent. 95% plus original blue finish remains overall with the receiver retaining its original armory bright finish. There is some minor wear and flaking on the nitre blue barrel bands and small handling marks. The stock is also excellent with some small scattered dings, strong markings, and light patina on the buttplate. The bayonet is very good with faint maker's marks, evidence of heavy sharpening, and dark patina throughout.
