Description:One of 606 of the early pin-fastened barrel versions of the Model 1811 pistol. These were manufactured circa 1811-1812 before the transition to the Model 1811 that featured the double strap barrel band. The lock is marked "eagle/U.STATES" in front of the cock and "S.NORTH/BERLIN/CON." at the tail. The interior of the lock is marked with a small "H" with "V" assembly marks on various small parts. There is a "P/US" proof on top of the barrel at the breech. "V/HHP" Henry H. Perkins inspector cartouche on the left flat and a removable collection mark on the trigger guard.
Rating Definition:Very good, showing a mix of brown and grey patinas with an attractive aged patina on the brass and some light pitting overall. The refinished wood is very good with minor dings throughout, a minor crack and wood doweled repair visible in the wrist, and some minor chipping. The inspector's cartouche on left side of stock is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
