Manufactured from 1909 until 1936, this Remington Model 12 Slide Action Rifle has a scarce factory "F" grade engraving. Very limited of these top of the line Model 12s were manufactured with the best quality checkering and fully engraved receiver. Flourishes of scrollwork are featured on the barrel flats at the breech. The receiver features profuse scrollwork on a punch dot background, borders and finely detailed game scenes (mallard ducks and a squirrel). A gold inlaid monogram is on top of the receiver. Dovetail blade and screw adjustable notch rear sight, and highly figured walnut pistol grip stock and forearm with multi-point checkering.
Fine, retaining 60% plus original blue finish with thinning and smooth gray patina on the balance. The engraving is crisp. The wood is fine with a couple short hairline stress cracks in the wrist, minor dings and scratches and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
