Manufactured by Willys and Kaiser from 1952 to 1957, the M38A1 was next in line from the M38 and was a military version of the commercial CJ-5. According to the data plate, this M38A1 has a May 1952 delivery date. It features a U.S. Army desert tan style paint scheme, Willys Hurricane straight 4 cylinder F-head engine, VRC in the rear, dummy M16 type rifle mounted for safe keeping on the passenger side, and dummy M60 machine gun attached to the post mount.
