This is an excellent example of an original U.S. Army issue Beretta M9 General Officers pistol. This model was introduced in 1986 based on the continuing need for the U.S. Military to be able to issue service automatic pistols to newly promoted General Officers. These pistols in all respects were a standard Beretta M9 handgun only they were identified by a special serial number with a "GO" prefix. Although we don’t have any documentation as to who the actual General Officer is that owned this pistol, but based on the later serial number of the pistol it was probably issued some time in the early 1990s. The right side of the frame is marked: "U.S. 9mm M9 BERETTA U.S.A.65490" with the left side marked with serial number: "GO-506". The left and right sides of the slide have the standard factory markings of "U.S. 9mm M9-BERETTA U.S.A.-65490" followed by the Beretta factory, circled "PB" logo and "ASSY 9346487-65490" followed by the etched "P M" proof markings. The slide is fitted with the standard fixed white dot front and rear combat sights, and it has ambidextrous safety levers, ring hammer and lanyard loop on the heel of the frame. This particular example has had the upgraded, checkered walnut grips installed that has the brass name plate on the left grip which is unmarked. The original issue standard black plastic checkered grips with the P. Beretta factory logo is included with this pistol. It also comes with its original issue black leather issue GO belt, and GO issue leather holster, double magazine pouch, green lanyard loop and two spare Beretta marked magazines. It also includes a copy of the U.S. Army M9 field manual.
Excellent with 98% of the black exterior finish overall with only a hint of edge/high spot wear from being in a holster. The walnut grips are also in excellent condition with nice sharp checking overall showing no handling marks. The various accoutrements, belt, holster, and magazine pouch are all in excellent condition.
