This is a masterful example of a John Bolliger custom rifle from Mountain Riflery Inc. Bolliger began creating custom rifles in 1966 and is now regarded among the top rifle makers in the world. Besides being one of the world's best custom rifle makers. This beautiful example shows standard Bolliger markings as well as British proofs and features a fluted barrel to reduce weight (rifle was intended for long range mountain hunting) and fancy Circassian walnut stock with Bollinger's signature elaborate vine/fleur-de-lis fancy checkering, subtle palm swell, ebony forearm cap, steel pistol grip cap, shadow line cheekpiece, sling swivel studs, fancy checkered bolt handle knob, and solid Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. Includes a Swarovski Habicht 3-10x42 A scope. Weight: 10 lbs. According to the consignor, this rifle was ordered in the early 1990s by an expatriate Iranian living in London for a hunt in Iran that never took place and originally cost about $30,000.
Excellent with 99% matte blue, with only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent. There is a light scratch on the scope tube and the optics are clear.
