Made by DWM expressly for the U.S. Test Trials with the signature "American Eagle" on top of the chamber. Fixed sights, an early pattern Luger bolt and toggle assembly with the flat top bolt, unmarked extractor, and dished toggle knobs with spring-loaded toggle lock. Unlike most examples, no "GERMANY" export mark can be found, and the safety lever is checkered instead of serrated. The replacement, renumbered lower safety area is milled down and blued over. Equipped with straw finished small components, a grip safety, matching numbered checkered grips, and a renumbered replacement nickel finished wood base magazine.
Fair as assembled/refinished, with half of the blue, showing areas of brown and gray patina, bright edge wear, scattered spotting, a small amount of shallow pitting and mild handling marks. The refurbished straw colors are slightly faded, and bright on the edges and the face of the trigger. Grips are good replacements, with some dents and flat spots. Mechanically fine.
