Manufactured late in 1918. Blade front and flat top notch rear sights, the two-line/two-block address and patent dates on the left side of the slide followed by the Rampant Colt, the Army nomenclature on the reverse, and a United States Property marked frame with "eagle head/S17" on the left side. Fitted with a long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, smooth mainspring housing, checkered grips, an unmarked two-tone magazine, and a conjoined "HP" marked Colt barrel.
Very fine, with 95% plus of the deep "black army" blue finish, showing some patches of brown patina on the grip frame and slide, minor handling marks and some light edge wear. The grips are also excellent with some dings around the grip screws. The barrel throat has been opened up to accept possibly wadcutter ammunition. Mechanically excellent.
