Also known as the Model 1941 Short Rifle, these rifles were manufactured by Mauser for Portugal. Overall configuration is near identical to the German military issued 98k, though with an overall higher level of fit and finish, and without the pretense of the shorthand manufacturer code names used on military firearms. Blade and tangent sights, with the Portuguese crest over "1941" on the receiver ring and the plain-text Oberndorf address on the left sidewall. Nazi "eagle/swastika" and "eagle/135" proofs are present overall, with matching serial numbers, and the Portuguese crest and 1941 date on the left side of the buttstock. With a "WaA883" proofed bayonet, blued steel with smooth fine hardwood grips and a matching numbered metal sheath.
Excellent, with 99% of the original blue finish, showing some minor handling marks and high point wear overall. The stock is also excellent, with sharp markings, scattered storage dings and scratches. The bayonet is also excellent. Mechanically excellent.
