Manufactured in 1977 and factory engraved with type "C" vine scroll engraving without backgrounds, "COLT ENG" on the right side of the front strap, matching serial numbers, carved markings on the underside of the left grip indicating they were made by Joe Reid in 1980, and the matching serial number hand-cut into both grips. The revolver comes in a factory burnt orange case. Don Wilkerson indicates engraved "revolvers in the 80000SA and 90000SA serial number ranges were still being shipped as late as 1985" because large numbers of revolvers were transferred to the new Colt Custom Gun Shop at the beginning of the Third Generation ("The Post-War Colt Single-Action Revolver, 1976-1986", pg. 213).
Excellent overall with 98% plus original blue and casehardened finish, minor handling and storage marks, light cylinder rotation lines, and a slight crack in the butt of the left grip. The case is good with mild wear overall and a split at one corner. Mechanically excellent.
