Description:Manufactured in limited quantities during World War II, hard data on the users of the Everitt knife are limited; some have been attributed to the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, aka Carlson's Raiders, which saw action in the Makin Island Raid (first official American ground action in the Pacific Theater) and the "Long Patrol" during the Guadalcanal Campaign. Measuring 11 3/4 inches overall, this dagger is fitted with a 6 7/8 inch long single fuller double edged spear tip blade, with a darkened finish. The alloy handle is cast directly around the blade tang, with a green finish, integral studded knuckles, and "EVERITT" on either side in a checkered panel. The sheath is brown leather construction, with a steel reinforcement plate on the rear and a lead throat protector.
Rating Definition:Very good. Most of the blade has been sharpened extensively with mild pitting near the guard. The hilt retains over 80% of the original green finish, with wear concentrated on the high points. The sheath is fair as field repaired, with stains, scuffs and cracks.
