Description:

The Warner Carbines were designed by James Warner of Springfield and manufactured for him by the Massachusetts Arms Company and later by the Greene Rifle Works. Only 1,501 of these Mass. Arms Co. carbines were manufactured in 1864. It has the standard markings and features including a faint outline of an inspector's cartouche on the wrist. "CSL" and "L" stamped on left breech.

Rating Definition:

Good with gray patina, light pitting, and light sanding scratches visible on the barrel; attractive aged "mustard yellow" patina on the brass with scattered dings overall, and some bruising, a carved "B" on the right side of the butt, carved "F.M. I" on the left side of the refinished butt, some slight chips, and some minor cracks. Mechanically functions fine, although breech block is slightly loose.
