Operating out of his home workshop in California, John Martz is best known for his alterations and upgrades of Luger and P 38 pistols, all of which are performed by him and often take several months of work. Starting life as a WWI DWM military Luger, the barrel and grip frame of the pistol have been elegantly shortened, maintaining the unique Luger profile in a more handy size. Blade front and notch rear sights, with "1917" on the chamber, the "DWM" monogram on the toggle, military proofs on the extension and toggle, and "JVM" and "206" in ovals under the side plate. Grips are attractive checkered walnut with smooth borders, a smooth back strap and two "JVM" marked wood based magazine numbered "1" and "2".
