A heavy barrel with no sights and has a half solid rib on the breech end, which is dovetailed for scope/sight mounting and signed "ENGRAVED BY JOSEF FUGGER, NEW YORK" in gold. The muzzle end has a 3 inch wedge of oak leaf and acorn engraving, and the breech end sides have a 3 1/2 inch wedge of the same engraving design. The action, breechblock, lever and trigger guard also have the same engraving design. In addition, the left side of the action has a gold-inlaid relief-engraved fox and pheasant in a forest scene and a gold-inlaid relief engraved lynx and woodcock in a forest scene on the right side. The top of the breechblock has a gold-inlaid fancy "M". All blue finish and mounted with a very nicely figured checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with carved floral leaf patterns bordering the checkering and on the flats. The forearm has a contrasting forend and the stock has a metal grip cap, cheek piece, checkered engraved buttplate and sling swivel bases, also engraved.
Very fine as professionally built and embellished with 99% plus blue finish remaining, showing some light handling marks and some minor pitting under the finish on the lever. All of the gold inlay remains. The stock shows only light handling marks and sharp checkering. The engraving is sharp. The action is excellent.
