Manufactured from 1935-1939. This Registered Magnum, number 281, features a King under cut blade front sight on ramp reflector base, adjustable square notch rear sight, standard S&W markings with "REG. 281" on the yoke, factory rework star stamped through the finish on the butt, matching assembly numbers on the yoke and crane, right grip panel numbered to a different gun (43763) and matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder and ejector shroud. Date stamped "10.42" (October 1942) on the left grip frame for unknown rework. This is one of 1,518 Registered Magnums manufactured with a 6 1/2 inch barrel.

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus original blue finish showing some loss at the sides of the muzzle, some speckling of patina, some minor scratches and a cylinder drag line. Traces of original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are very fine showing a few minor dings and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
