The barrel has a combination bayonet stud/front sight, a small "crown/18" proof by the vent, and "crown/GR/broad arrow" and "crown/cross scepter" proofs on the left above "DR" or "DB." The lock has "TOWER" on the tail and Georgian cipher, "crown/broad arrow", and "SG" markings at center. The back side of the lock has "3 O," "crown/7," and "[?]R" markings. The buttplate has "N/A+40" on the heel. The stock has remnants of an unclear stamp on the right. Modern "LH-383" markings are on the barrel and buttplate tang. Includes modern reproduction bayonet and ramrod.
Very good overall with a dark blend of applied brown finish, brown and gray patina, mild oxidation and pitting, and scattered marks. The bayonet and ramrod remain polished bright. The brass has attractive aged patina. The stock has some surface chipping at the unclear marking on the right, minor nicks and scratches throughout, a crack in the grain on the right between the ramrod entry pipe and the nose of the lock, some strike marks, and mostly smooth oiled finish. Mechanically fine.
