Description:The Model 1902 Revolver is referred to as the "Alaskan" or "Philippine" model due to the distinctive over-sized trigger guard. Approximately 4,600 of these revolvers were purchased by the Army to provide a large caliber replacement for the .38 caliber New Army Model DA revolver. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "45 COLT" on the left side and a "P" and "K" on the underside. The left rear of the frame, upper left front of the trigger guard bow and rear cylinder face are marked "R.A.C.", there is also a "P" on the rear cylinder face, and the right side of the frame below the cylinder is marked "U.S." The complete serial number is marked on the toe of the butt, and the partial serial number "7104" is marked on the loading gate and rear cylinder face. The revolver is fitted with smooth walnut grips.
Rating Definition:Fine with 30% plus original blue finish remaining mixed with smooth gray and brown patina and light pitting visible on the right front half of the barrel. The replacement grips are good with some wear on the lower edges and overall some minor dents, dings and scratches. The lanyard ring is absent. The cylinder does not lock up tightly; otherwise, the action functions fine. The markings are crisp and clear.
