Manufactured by John Gill of London in the late 18th century. Gill was active from in at least 1750-1808. The pistols are marked "I·GILL-" on the locks which have frizzen spring rollers, "B&S" between the cross scepter proofs on the Damascus barrels (barrel made by Blair & Sutherland?), blade and notch sights, single set trigger, traditional light engraving, and a smooth wedge fastened stock. Swordmaker Thomas Gill, John Gill's brother, is known to have had connections with David Blair. They come in a custom made case with a bore rods, a casehardened ball mold, and several lead balls.
Very good as refinished overall with nearly all of the light brown finish on the barrel, nice Damascus patterns, dark case colors and applied brown on the lock, dark artificial brown on the remaining furniture, and some minor pitting and marks. The stock is fine with repairs on the forend and some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.

The stock is very good and has a minor hairline crack in the left flat, small dings and scratches, and faint repaired crack in the forend. Mechanically excellent.
