Manufactured by John Blissett in the early Victorian Era with a bead front sight, "JOHN BLISSETT. 321 HIGH HOLBORN. LONDON." on the rib, gold inlaid bands at the breech, fine scroll and floral engraving, a "WM 2243" collection style mark on the right barrel, London proofs, half-cock safeties, checkered grip, silver thumb plate, and cap box in the pommel cap.
Fine with 25% original case colors and otherwise smooth brown and gray patina and some light pitting. The stock is fine with a chip on the right, some gaps at the edges, crisp checkering, and minor scratches. Mechanically excellent.
Manufactured by Durs Egg's shop around the time of his death in 1831. "D Egg/LONDON" is inlaid in gold on the left side of the action. The breech areas are numbered "3" and "4" indicating it was likely part of a pair and have standard proofs on the opposite sides. There are fine English scroll and border engraving patterns throughout. The grip has inlaid silver floral and scroll patterns and a silver pommel cap with a patch box. The latter has several small hallmarks including "EP."
Fine overall with 60% period refurbished blue finish on the barrels, essentially all of the gold and silver, dark brown patina mixed with 25% case colors on the action and hammer, and minor handling wear.
