Produced circa 1958-1962, the Dardick uses a novel combination of a fixed in-grip magazine, an open-sided auto-ejecting three chamber cylinder and a proprietary plastic-cased triangular cartridge dubbed the "tround". This combination permits an ammunition capacity inline with an automatic pistol while retaining the simplified manual of arms and reliability of a revolver. Additionally, the barrel is secured with a single threaded bolt and can be rapidly detached or swapped, with this particular Dardick being bundled with its original matching numbered 6 inch barrel, an unnumbered 4 inch barrel, and the "Switch Hitter" carbine conversion kit. The conversion kit is built around a 20 inch barrel and an overhanging alloy frame, with on-board blade and Marbles notch sights, mounting rail, smooth forearm and a buttstock with serrated black plastic buttplate. Also included with the pistol is an unnumbered factory box and a series of articles and correspondence regarding the Dardick design, including advertisements for the carbine unit.
Excellent with 95% of the original blue and black finish showing some mild handling marks and edge wear overall. The 4 inch barrel shows some mild scratches. The carbine unit is in very good condition with a plum patina forming on the front sight, a straw tone on the frame, and mild scratches and dings on the wood. The box shows light external wear and staining. Mechanically excellent.
