Description:Designed for use with the Webley double action revolver, using the front sight as a mounting lug and propping against the barrel hinge for additional support. Both feature a "T" cross-section flat spine blade secured to the metal hilt with a staked hexagonal nut, a cross guard marked "PATENT No. 17143/16" and "W.W.G./(elephant)" on the right side, and a blued steel sheath. 1) Brass hilted bayonet, 12 3/4 inches overall with an 8 3/8 inch blade, numbered "147" on the guard. 2) Steel hilted bayonet, 12 3/8 inches overall with an 8 1/8 inch blade, casehardened hilt finish, and "101" on the guard. Many replicas were made of the brass handled variant, but writer does not recall ever seeing a casehardened steel hilt variant replica, but will not form an opinion either way, so we will offer this lot as you see it.
Rating Definition:Very good. Both show some tiny cracking of the blades near the bases, with mild handling marks overall. #1 shows a nice mustard patina on the hilt, while #2 retains 60% plus original bright case color.
