Description:
Introduced in late 1881. The No. 4 differed from previous models by incorporating a spring loaded magazine capable of holding 20 .22 caliber lead projectiles. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number "82" and the early style "H.M. QUACKENBUSH. HERKIMER. N.Y./PAT. JUNE 6. 1876---JULY. 19. 1881" patent and maker stamp. Fitted with a smooth straight grip stock and crescent buttplate.
Rating Definition:
Fine with 60% of the original nickel finish. Displaying areas of thinning, handling marks, oxidation, small dings, and areas of a mottled gray patina. The stock is fine with handling marks and small scattered dings. Mechanically fine.
