Manufactured in 1943. Fixed sights, with the left side of the slide marked with the intertwined "USS" company logo and "U.S. & S. CO./SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A.". LTC Robert Downie's "RCD" inspection stamp is present on the left side of the frame, with a thin checkered hammer, stamped trigger, checkered slide catch, checkered thumb safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, checkered brown Coltwood grips with reinforcing ribs and large reinforcing rings around the screws, and a High Standard barrel. The right side of the frame is marked with the "United States Property" notation, serial number, and model. Two extra parkerized magazines are included.
Very good with 70% of the dulite finish and some areas of cold blue touch up on the under side of the frame. Displaying some areas of high point and edge wear, general handling marks, and evidence of cleaning on the underside of the frame forward of the trigger guard. The grips are very fine with a few light dings and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
