Blade front and tangent rear sights, with "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N" on the top barrel flat, the serial number on the upper left, a "crown/crown/U" proof on the left and a "crown/gothic letter" military-style proof on the right. The right rear of the frame is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A. NECKAR". The "crown/crown/U" proof is repeated on the top of the bolt handle, and the serial number is repeated in full or in part on the hammer, hammer housing, frame, magazine floorplate and the interior of the grips. With a hardwood stock holster numbered "666" on the mounting iron and a brown leather belt harness stamped "Industriegruppen/STUTTGART/1913" and "BA XIV" on the rear with a hand-marked "Pfc. John Kohany", and a wood handled metal barrel rod. Kohany has not been identified, though hand-markings like this, are typically seen on war loot to discourage fellow soldiers from "re-liberating" their trophies.

Very good, with cold blue refinish visible on the lower right magazine well with the balance retaining 70% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The grips are very good, with some dents and flat spots. The revarnished stock is good, with cracks and replaced screws, and the harness is fine with most of the original brown finish, some age cracks and loose stitching. Mechanically fine.
