Manufactured in 1897. This rifle features a silver blade front sight and an adjustable semi-buckhorn sporting sight. The top of the barrel is stamped with the two-line address marking ahead of the rear sight and "38-55" at the breech. The serial number is marked on the underside of the frame. Full length magazine tube, blue finish with casehardened hammer, lever and buttplate and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with forend cap and crescent buttplate.
Very fine overall. The rifle retains 85% of the original blue finish with scattered scratches and muzzle wear. The markings are clear. The hammer and lever retain vivid case colors. The buttplate has a smooth silver patina with brown speckling. The wood is fine with scattered scratches, dings and pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
