This is a beautiful example of a rare WWII Walther PP pistol chambered in the very rare 9 mm Kurz caliber with the rare "bottom release" magazine lever. In additional it has the desirable German "Eagle/359" Waffenamt proofs. Any Walther PP pistol chambered in 9 mm Kurz is extremely rare and one that also has the bottom magazine release and the Nazi Waffenamt proof is even doubly rare. This early model is made after April 1940 and also carries the "Nazi/Eagle N" commercial proofs on the slide, chamber and muzzle area. The slide has the matching serial number on the inside with the standard slide markings of "Walther" inside a banner followed by the two line factory address and patent information followed by "Mod PP". It is fitted with the original Walther black plastic checkered grips and one original Walther magazine marked" Walther/Cal. 9m/m" on the lower left side.
Very fine overall with 80% plus of the original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with blue thinning and some light oxidation on the grip straps. The grips are also in very fine condition with clear markings and distinct checkering on both sides showing minor handling marks and nicks in a few places. A scarce Nazi Proofed Walther PP in the desirable 9 mm Kurz cartridge.
