Description:

Measuring 38 3/8 inches overall, with a 32 3/4 inch curved "quillback" blade, showing a flared 11 inch false edge and a fine etched Damascus pattern overall. The final 4 1/2 inches are etched and gold washed, with "CLEMEN & JUNG SOLINGEN" on the spine, "EISENHAUER/DAMAST-STAHL" (Iron Hewer, Damascus Steel) on the left, and an unidentified coat of arms on the right. The hilt is of cast brass construction with sculpted details, with a pair of crossed swords in a wreath on the right languet, a blank set of burgher arms on the left, raised floral and laurel vine decoration overall, a lion head rear quillion, a raised knight's great helm on the stirrup guard, wire wrapped rayskin grip, and a sculpted lion head pommel with red jewels on the eyes. With a black paint finished steel scabbard, fitted with dual brass suspension bands and a single suspension ring.

Rating Definition:

Good as refurbished (scabbard and blade). The steel shows a fine gray color overall, with some mild spotting and handling marks, with over 85% of the original gold near the base. The true edge and around half of the false edge have been professionally sharpened, with some light pitting near the tip. The hilt is good, with a mixed aged patina on the brass, some scuffing of the rayskin, and a few sections of absent or repaired wire. The sheath is good as repainted, with the lower suspension ring cleanly removed, a screw absent from the throat, and mild handling marks.
