Originally established by the Prussians and later spread to other parts of Imperial Germany, the "Rangliste" or "Rang und Quartierliste" (Rank List) was essentially a concise record of the entire nation's available military resources, and would allow the holder to have a reasonably accurate picture of what men and units were at the government's disposal. 1) Rangliste for the Prussian Army, circa 1804. A small book bound with cardboard covers and a leatherette spine, with a collector's stamp on the first page and some hand markings overall. Some of the names have been struck out, possibly a record of deaths and career-ending injuries maintained during the original period of use. 2) Rang und Quartierliste for 1822, paper-bound book similar in markings and contents to #1. 3) Rangliste for the Prussian Army, 1910 edition, leather bound with a gold embossed eagle on the cover and printed notations of earned honors of the listed officers. 4) "Erinnerungsblaetter Deutscher Regimenter 1. Kurhessisches Feldartillery-Regiment Nr. 11" (Honor Record of the 11th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Kurhessian), printed in 1927, white board covers with a cloth spine, containing a record of the Regiment in the First World War, a listing of fallen members, and a number of photo inserts, including pictures of officers and men as well as scenes from the field. 5) "1000 Bilder aus 25 Jahren Deutscher Geschichte" (1000 Images from 25 Years of German History), red cloth bound, with army records covering the beginning of the 20th century. Title is non-indicative, as the book contains no pictures, art, etc. With board sleeve.
