With a beaded blade front and adjustable rear notch sight on a medium weight octagon barrel. The barrel is marked "C.G. HAENEL" on the upper right flat and "SUHL" on the left in gold wire inlay. The action, magazine and trigger guard are fully engraved with a classic German oak leaf and acorn design with a fine punch dot background and scroll borders. The butterknife style bolt handle and bolt body have been well polished with "D.R.G.M." markings on the body and near the bolt head. Features double set triggers. With standard German crown proofs on the barrel and bolt handle. Mounted on a walnut pistol grip stock with a single engraved barrel wedge, checkered grip area, engraved steel grip cap, cheekpiece and engraved steel buttplate marked with the serial number.

Fine as modified (underside of barrel, rear of muzzle cold blued over file marks). 70% of the thin brown finish remains on the barrel with small areas of oxidation, spotting and light pitting that has been cleaned and refinished. The action has traces of original case colors in protected areas with the majority aged to a primarily silver/gray patina. The wood is fine with well defined checkering, light to moderate general handling marks, some small indentations and a few longer scratches on the right side forward of the grip. The butt appears to have been slightly altered as the buttplate does not sit flush.
